- Climate change and COP26 - Open call for creative commissions. The British Council is inviting applications for creative commissions that bring together art, science and digital technology and offer innovative responses to climate change. The commissions will be part of the cultural programme in the build up to the United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26), which the UK is hosting in Glasgow in November 2021.

2) UK-ASEAN Partnerships and Exchanges Baseline Research Grant

- The UK-ASEAN Partnerships and Exchanges Baseline Research Grant will fund research that assesses the quality and quantity of existing tertiary education partnerships and exchanges between the UK and fifteen countries and territories in East and Southeast Asia. The grant of £250,000 will be awarded to a single UK institution to carry out this research. Resulting papers will be published as part of the British Council Research Papers series online.

3) UK-China-BRI Countries Education Partnership Initiative

- Building on the success of the UK-China-BRI Countries Education Partnership Initiative in the past two years, the British Council will continue to fund multi-lateral higher education links between the UK, China and BRI countries, with priority focus on Vietnam and Indonesia. Seed-funding of around £65,000 will be provided to institutions from the UK to partner with China and Vietnam and/or Indonesia for projects that would strengthen online teaching and learning, improve student experiences, and boost education internationalisation. The thematic priority is improving the quality of student experience through digital learning.
