Prof. Simon Pollard DSc FREng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Cranfield University, England, and School of the Environment and Safety Engineering has Reached a Preliminary Agreement on Cooperation

Prof. Simon Pollard DSc FREng, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Cranfield University, England, visited School of the Environment and Safety Engineering on invitation on the afternoon of 10 September, 2018. During his visit, Prof. Pollard had a meeting with Mr. Wang Shaohua, Director of the talent engineering office in Jiangsu University, Prof. Wu Xiangyang, Dean of School of the Environment and Safety Engineering, Prof. Du Daolin, Deputy Dean of School of the Environment and Safety Engineering, and the representatives of teachers. The meeting was presided over by Prof. Du Daolin.



At first, on behalf of School of the Environment and Safety Engineering, the dean, Prof. Wu Xiangyang, expressed the warmest welcome to the visit of Prof. Pollard. Then they exchanged gifts. After that, both sides had a sufficient exchange of views on how to promote communication among young teachers, how to formulate implementation rules for the double degree program between Cranfield University and Jiangsu University, and how to carry out cooperative research, and finally reached a consensus. Besides, both sides reached a preliminary agreement on the cooperative research and project application concerning the issues “environmental risk analysis” and “recycling and reuse of environmental waste”, which has laid good foundation for further work. Prof. Simon Pollard showed great interest in the topics discussed at the meeting, especially the topic on cooperative research, and he believed that with the advance of the double degree program, both sides would have deeper cooperation in teachers’ academic exchange and scientific research.


Prof. Simon Pollard, DSc FREng, is a senior member of the Executive and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Cranfield University, and his research focuses on improved environmental water risk governance.
